Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from hardworking families on the west side of Chicago. They are incredibly bright and have an enormous capacity to learn, to work diligently, and to succeed! They take pride in their work and are very eager to learn. They are all such good friends to each other. I wish to match their incredible efforts with the best possible resources here in our learning community. This is an exciting time in my students' lifelong learning journey.

Our school is a Title I school, with 97.5% of students coming from low income families.

The neighborhood itself is high in poverty. Due to the low income of families, my students encounter a hugh struggle to get resources. They lack the basic resources at home and unfortunately the resources available in my classroom are very limited. Please help my students become successful.

My Project

Help me give my Second Grade Students Grammar Workbooks. They will be used and needed daily at home during remote learning. This necessary tool for learning will be sent home for each student to have available for remote learning.

Getting Our Grammar On!

My second graders will continue to develop their literacy skills as they learn more complex words, and using more rigorous texts in a variety of genres. As I model and teach grammar, these workbooks will be given to each student to work on during remote learning at home. Many of my students lack basic writing skills, and this resource will be benificial to have available during virtual learning . Help me provide them with this highly needed essential resource.
