And we're off on a new adventure! Not only will this year bring me a new school, but a new grade level, and a new experience in teaching online virtually! While I haven't met my kiddos yet, my experience with kindergarteners has taught me that they are always full of energy and excitement to learn!
I can't wait to begin working with a new group of little leaders who are ready to take on the world one letter, one word, and one number at a time!
My Project
Currently our little kindergarten leaders are still learning from home! They've done a great job so far sticking through it to start to learn about their letters and numbers! I'm so proud of them, but I know that we still have so far to go!
This past week the school district amended the kindergarten schedule to include 20 minutes of recreational time daily.
I'm so excited to be able to give students a little break from learning and get in some fun physical activity! Having soccer balls will allow my students to stand up and move and practice some soccer drills. The cones will allow us to set up mini courses for ourselves to practice some footwork, some hopping, and some other crucial gross motor skills.
While the purpose of these balls is primarily to get some movement in, we'll also be able to use them to practice math skills like counting and science skills like force and motion! Knowing that each student has a ball at home will help us to all be on the same playing field and practice together as a class!
