Help me give my students flexible seating options like the wobble chairs and wobble cushions where they are able to find their best spot to stay calm, focused and productive to be an engaged student.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are an inquisitive and energetic group. For some of them this is their first time in a classroom setting, but they are eager to learn. They are learning to work on their social skills by engaging in cooperative play. They love to play and explore the different materials.
These students also have different learning styles that can be accommodated by using these resources in their educational success.
Students need hands-on learning to fully understand what they are being taught and quality experiences in the classroom can create learning opportunities for the children to begin answering their own questions through observations or comparisons.
My Project
Having flexible seating options for the children will be beneficial to their learning by allowing them to choose to work at different heights and in different positions. They will be able to choose their best spot that will keep them calm, focused and productive in the classroom. Different options of flexible seating can help stimulate their sense of touch by helping them focus and process information.
The sand and water table helps support their math and science skills by introducing scientific concepts while helping explore sensory experiences.
The students will be able to explore concepts like sinking and floating. It also helps the children with physical development by using their fine motor skills. Social and emotional skills are being developed by practicing cooperative play and sharing.
I am also asking for other learning materials that will be used in the classroom. This is my first year of teaching and I am needing resources that will help with my student's learning.
