My Students
My students work from 8:30-11:30 in our Montessori classroom before having a recess break. They have the option of choosing their seat either at a table, desk, or floor. These items would help my students focus on work while being able to wiggle and move.
My school teaches students to be independent learners.
They are free to move around the room while working on their independent jobs in any order they choose. My students with ADHD often have a difficult time focusing on their work with all the different learning going on around them. These tools would be very useful to them.
My Project
With these timers my students will be able to set a timed goal to complete their work independently in a timely manner, wiggle in a chair at their desk while working using the wobble chair, wiggle on a cushion at a job rug on the floor using the balance discs, and block out the noise around them with the noise cancelling headphones.
This donation would create a more peaceful learning environment for my students.
They would be able to get more work completed, increasing their academic success. They would be able to get movement out without disrupting the learning of those around them. The whole class would benefit from these donations.
