My Students
Students in middle school need to focus and work in groups but they also need to fidget and move. Middle school students are amazing, they are always thinking and are easily distracted.
I used to think they were trying to drive their teachers crazy and now I know that these magnificent creatures are doing their very best during a physically, emotionally and socially challenging time in their lives.

My Project
Working in groups during science and math class occurs on a daily basis and in middle school it is very challenging. Students do their best to focus and participate in their groups but often they need to move! The students are trying their hardest to gain new knowledge that is relevant to their lives. Instructors incorporate movement strategies into the students' lessons but sometimes the students need to sit and work on projects at the tables.
The wobble chairs will allow the students to move while staying seated during table time.
Many students have trouble staying seated without fidgeting and/or distracting classmates. Often they lean back dangerously on the classroom chairs and upset themselves in the chair. The wobble chairs will be available for all students and will especially help those students that are often corrected by the instructor. This will help students focus their abilities, improve attention and will also increase their self-esteem due to fewer behavior issues.
