My Project
The world is changing every day as we leave the pandemic behind. Students are more aware of the world and its problems and how people are trying to find the best solutions. That is why I am eager for students to experience Scholastic News Magazine for another year.
Scholastic News Magazine is a tool that my students will use to read more about history, present-day issues, and ways to look toward the future.
Inside each issue, the students can read about community service, real-life kid stories, science discoveries, and positive world issues. One of the best parts is the debate section, which is a great source for opinion writing. In addition, the subscription includes ready-made resources for teachers, which allow me to run activities and assign assessments easily.
Scholastic News will get students thinking about their own thoughts and ideas, instead of the one that seems the most popular. And the exciting part is, they get a brand-new colorful magazine in their hands to read every week! I am hoping that this project gets funded so 5th grade students can keep reading and learn more about the world around them.
