I teach first grade in an urban public school and have the best students in the world!! They are low income students with high energy and an enormous desire to learn.
Between budget cuts and the economy, my students have been impacted in a very negative way. The school is having to provide more for the students at a time it is given less funds to do so with. We need help to provide the learning environment all students need and deserve.
This year my most urgent need is for pencil sharpeners. I received a donation of pencils but they will be of no use without a point!! These sharpeners will give us a chance to do our best work.
Your donation will show my students that they are meant for bigger and better things in life and there are all sorts of people out there that will help them achieve their goals. It will show them that until they can take care of themselves, there are others willing to help meet their needs and their responsibility is to do their best in everything they do.
