My students need write and wipe lapboards and reusable pockets, laminating pouches, and an easel in order to assess their prior knowledge and check for understanding.
I teach at a Title I school that is located in an area of New York City where there is high poverty. Many students come from low-income homes where little or no English is spoken. Students also receive free breakfast and lunch.
This school year I will be teaching 32 eager fourth graders of mixed abilities and backgrounds.
In order to get started on the right foot, my students need certain materials. With your help, my students will have the resources they need to learn and grow!
My Project
My students are in need of materials. My students will be able to show their prior knowledge and their understanding with the use of write and wipe lapboards and reusable pockets. The reusable write and wipe pockets will also allow students to practice different reading skills and strategies. For example, they will be able to make inferences by using a dry-erase maker to underline text evidence. A small easel will allow me to provide effective small group instruction that will meet the needs of my students.
I will create multiple paths so that students of different abilities, interests, or learning needs experience fair ways to learning.
Additionally, the laminating pouches will enable me to preserve informational charts.
Your generous donation will help my students have a successful start to a great school year.
