Get Ready For The Robo-pocalypse

My students need a laptop to program their robots and to be competitive against better funded schools.

My Students

Robotics are changing our world and my students want to be at the forefront! To remain competitive they need a laptop to hone their programming skills.

Some people might call my students geeks.

And maybe they are, but they are also fun-loving, hard- working, highly skilled critical thinkers with imaginations beyond their chronological years. When given a task, they always exceed my expectations. They also show their dedication by enthusiastically arriving for class at 7:00 am every day and working an additional 35 hours a month! The teams consist of students from the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. At their first tournament this year, all four teams were given special recognition for their willingness to help teams from the other schools. That's how much these young men and women love robotics!

My Project

My middle school robotics students are battling high school students in regional competitions and doing very well. One of our four teams placed second out of 36 in our first competition this year. Programming skills are an important part of the challenges but my students were unable to compete in this portion because they didn't have a laptop. Each team from our school needs its own dedicated laptop to bring to the competitions.

Your donation will allow my students to achieve their goal of qualifying for and then winning the 2013 Vex World Championships!

At this event my students will be competing with, and against, other teams from around the world.
