My Students

Did you enjoy gym class? Did you have fields to play on for gym or recess? Was it the only break you had or the favorite part of your day! As middle school math teacher the chance to take a break & play flag football is important as fractions, decimals & percents!! Please help!

My students overcome plenty of adversity before they even step foot in my class room.

This however does not limit their energy, determination & imagination. I'm truly inspired by them each day I walk into our building. We are an inner city school in one of the poorest zip codes in our state. 86% of our students qualify for free/reduced lunch, 27% are special education students and 19% are English Language Learners. We love them all at our school and we are doing are best to give them the same opportunity every middle school student deserves!

My Project

We are requesting flag football equipment. With this equipment we will be able to start both a male and female flag football program at our school. Our goal is to build community and increase the amount of opportunities our students have to get active. We have one small gym for basketball (2 baskets) and the gym is just not big to offer programming for 500+ students. With flag football we can get outdoors and get active!

After school activities are vital to the LIFE of our students.

Our students need a safe place to be a kid after school. The city streets are dangerous and not a place where a kid can just "be a kid" Our flag football program will help build community, engage students and build relationships! Please help.
