My Project

I am super excited to give my students an award wining novel to learn a variety of Reading and Writing standards. For example, figurative language skills, theme, character development, literary analysis, and the structure of the text that leads to the development of the plot, theme, and setting. The Giver prompts critical thinking as students learn about how collective memories shape communities, individuals, societies, and the world. Students realize the importance of cultural memories, even if they may include painful events. Help me engage my students with this morally driven story!
