Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students I teach come from a variety of different economic backgrounds; with 100% of students receiving free lunch. Our school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in San Diego. Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Somali, and Burmese.
Our school is home to students that strive to be confident, respectful, responsible, and healthy thinkers.
I am kindly asking for your support in helping us as we transition to distant learning. We need binders and other organizational supplies to help student succeed while learning from home.
My Project
As we prepare to start our school year learning from home many of the students I teach are faced with the challenges of not having the needed materials to support their learning. They need pencils, paper, crayons, and more. I've been successful in securing these much needed basics but now what do they do with it? How do they keep younger siblings away from their learning materials? What happens when they have to travel between home and babysitters?
You can help by support this project and providing the much needed organizational materials!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
