"Do we get to do that?!" is often a phrase heard in 1B. The students in my classroom everyday are eager to learn and try new things. Outside of school they do not typically have many opportunities as I work at a Title 1 school in which many students are a part of the free and reduced lunch program. My school district is in a small community in east Texas and our students do not always have easy access to experiences and opportunities like schools in a bigger city would.
My Project
The students will use all the materials from this project to better organize and access the things they have in class. The headphones are needed to use the computers in our classroom without distracting other from their work. The magnets will be used in various ways to display work around the room as well as to hang station directions on the boards and on the teacher desk. The paper organizer and both drawer organizers are for storing our paper supplies as well as storing our station supplies in an easy, independent location for students. The markers are for labeling work and creating anchor charts with my students. The mice will be placed with the computers so that students can easily navigate the computer without having to mess with the difficult touch pads; and the batteries are to make sure the mice work! The folders are to be placed in a teacher guided reading binder to help keep student groups organized.
