Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
With 90% of my school qualifying as high poverty (and 56% "at-risk"), it is essential that I provide them the best educational experiences I possibly can. My scholars are fun, energetic, creative, loving children who need as much support, guidance, and love as I can give them. Providing a safe, organized, accessible environment is the first step in ensuring that my students are excited and comfortable expressing themselves, taking risks, and growing.
Conner Cubs are college bound!
This year is critical in their reading development, and a literacy-filled environment will help us prepare them for college. As we transition from learning-to-read to the even harder reading-to-learn, effective and engaging resources will be essential.
My Project
These materials will be used on a daily basis. The storage cart and pocket chart will make supplies easier to access during centers. The paper trays will give students a go-to place to find and turn in work without interrupting small group instruction. This will ensure that we have more learning time and less transition time.
Increasing effective use of instructional time and minimizing transitions will ensure that I am able to spend as much time teaching as I possibly can...which means the students will spend more time learning!
They shouldn't have to worry about finding the necessary supplies when they should be worrying about learning new skills.
