Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Spanish is typically the language spoken at home and our students often translate and help their parents to understand the things they learn in school every day.

My students are amazing 2nd-grade bilingual students that need me to be the best teacher I can be.

As a bilingual student myself, I can relate to them and provide that compassion that they need.

Their parents have instilled them with a desire to want to learn and share experiences, life, and hardships with their family within the classroom. Even though my bilingual students have many disadvantages in their lives, they work hard every day at acquiring new and strengthening their vocabulary in the English language.

My Project

I need a day of professional development that is designed, delivered and created in real-time formats, structures & protocols that teachers will easily be able to replicate in the classroom. I am looking for a day that will be nothing short of an energetic and motivational day full of active participation and practical application of the essential skills of the 21st century; creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication and caring.

The day would have me moving, grooving, agreeing and disagreeing, working in group challenges, problem-solving and persevering, creating and innovating, critiquing and evaluating, producing and presenting.

The presenters have a mission to create a day very similar to the one that is expected at school each and every day, and one that is rigorous, engaging, hands-on, progressive, inspiring and FUN!
