Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Earlier in the year, my students had the opportunity to build and explore with LEGO bricks during a Bricks for Kidz field trip. They had to work with a partner and follow directions to create something. I have never seen them so engaged. I would like to purchase sets of LEGO bricks for my students to use whenever they finish something early or have a little extra time. The use of LEGO bricks in the classroom can have so many benefits. Students are using teamwork and communication skills, problem solving, practicing spatial awareness and math skills, using creativity and experimentation, developing fine motor skills, and are relieving stress and anxiety.
