My Students
In my classroom I have 20 1st graders. They are energetic, fun, happy and excited to learn. They come from various backgrounds. Each student brings a different quality that enriches our classroom. We are truly like a box of crayons with each child adding something different to the picture.
1st graders have a love for learning and are open to learning and trying new experiences.
Students in 1st grade learn and grow so much. Everything that they learn they will use for the rest of their lives! This is the age that we need to really get kids excited about learning. A student's foundation of learning is created in 1st grade.
My Project
Students like to find a place where they can sit and read and be comfortable. The flex space comfy floor seats will provide the children a place to sit and ready. The seats will be comfortable and the children will be able to sit longer and read. The students will be able to choose where they sit and what works best for them during independent time.
It is a proven fact that students need to read at home as well as at school.
The book bags will give children that opportunity. They will be able to choose books to take home and read. My first graders are learning to read and they need every opportunity to read. Reading at home is essential for students to increase their reading level.
In first grade students are learning to read and write high frequency words and learn addition and subtraction facts. The double sided magnetic write and wipe boards will give students the ability to practice writing and reading high frequency words and practice math facts. By using these boards I will be able to use less paper in my classroom.
