Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I support our after school clubs where we have students who play soccer, volley ball, basketball, baseball, and flag football.

None of these students have had the chance to play actual sports due to the constraints our district placed on after school sports due to COVID-19.

This being the only chance at playing sports as part of a team, we realize students have struggled with learning how to get centered before and even after the practice and games. We noticed a shift in perseverance and being able to sustain the physicality required to play the game! We think bringing in mindful practice of yoga, pilates, stretching, weight lifting, and mindfulness will help students build the stamina to not just play after school sports, and one day play on a sports team, but be great at it too.
