My Students
The section of Philadelphia I teach in is a very low-economic area with minimal family involvement. Many have limited resources. However, they make up for that with their personalities and eagerness.
Many of my students come into school without previous education, minimal basic skills, and minimal supplies, but are eager and willing to work hard to learn all they can.
In order for my students to succeed and thrive, we need to have a safe and inviting environment. In order to do this, we need snacks for energy, centers that are exciting, and new, basic everyday materials that are readily available for the classroom and for home.
My Project
As any parent or teacher knows staying healthy through the year is almost impossible. To try and prevent more illnesses from being passed back and forth, I am trying to get some supplies to use each day to disinfect more areas!
The clorox wipes and tissues are going like hotcakes!
Each day or two, I go through a box of tissues! I also wipe my tables down everyday to prevent germs and starting to get low on clorox wipes!
The Swiffer is to wash my floor more often than the custodians are able too! Hopefully, with these supplies my students will be healthier to come to school more often:)
