My Project
The majority of us begin our day by taking a shower, and/or brushing our teeth and washing our face. This is something we were taught as children and I myself thought all children knew this.. That isn't the case for some of my scholars that are experiencing homelessness and even those that aren't. My school is in a predominantly low income community and some of our families struggle with finding adequate housing along with trying to keep food on the table. Hygiene isn't always taught at home because in some instances, there is a struggle between deciding can I pay utilities or buy food and the resources to this isn't always available. Covid-19 has taught the world the importance of doing simple things like keeping your hands clean, which we all know this has been an issue for years with a lot of children because they and wipe their noses n their hands and share toys and don't worry about germs. My plan is to provide our scholars with hygiene products and teach them the importance of not only using hand sanitizer, but how to properly wash your hands and face as well as sanitizing them. The products I have selected will help me demonstrate the importance of this and provide them with items to take home with them.
