German Mathematics STEM Materials

My students need to start using more math manipulatives to help them learn how to manipulate numbers from 1 to 120.

My Students

One of the most challenging parts of teaching mathematics in German is getting materials that will help the students learn math concepts. We have students are so many levels and these would help us provide better instruction for hands on learners.

We have morning and afternoon students that come and learn German and 2nd grade mathematics in German.

They are novice and intermediate speakers of German and making great progress with Math learning. We are lucky to have a lot of community and parent support and would love to add more varied instructional material for mathematics.

My Project

My students would use this cash register to teach them the functional language skills of making a purchase and planning a recipe. They will also increase their mathematics awareness of money. Some of our learners really do well with letters and numbers that they can move around and this project would help increase our stem materials since this is the first year teaching 2nd Grade in German.

These donations help us increase mathematics awareness at all levels in the classroom.

For students that are still below grade level we can increase their ability to learn math in German.
