My Students

Our students hold a special place in our hearts. These students come from various backgrounds with a majority of the students coming from low income households.

Our students know the importance of a good education.

They are always looking forward to the school day to learn something new. They come to us for their "burning questions."

Our students are not aware that we do not have all the proper materials and/or enough materials in order to reach our full potential. We work hard to create a positive environment to make them believe in themselves so that they succeed regardless of circumstances. We focus on possibilities. We would love to help bring their imagination to life!

My Project

The slogan "Team work makes the dream work," is the motto of our 2nd grade team this year. We know that it has been a difficult time for everyone so we are working hard to come together to work as a team to achieve the goals that we have set for this school year.

One of our goals is to make social studies come alive for our little learners.

We have found that social studies typically gets pushed aside but it is so important to know our history. We are foruntate to have standards that are centered around Georgia and the important people who have given to Georgia. This is important because this makes what they learn relevant.

This project will give four 2nd grade teachers the materials needed to make learning about Georgia fun and hands-on. The big idea for the unit is Georgia's first people. We will learn about the Creek and Cherokee and how cultures of the past are still present today.
