My Project
My students succeed when they are able to apply the geometric concepts we learn to real-life scenarios. The supplies in this project will allow my students to create scale stage design models and think creatively about how geometry appears in their lives every day.
The materials in this project are a creative conduit to a deeper level of mathematical understanding.
As students design, measure, create, and analyze their models, they deepen their understanding of space, planes, volume, and area. Students will utilize foam board, Basswood, and Chipboard for the core of their projects. They will add an artistic flair with the use of paints and air dry clay. These materials will allow each student to combine their mathematical and artistic skills.
Furthermore, these projects will be displayed for the school and community, encouraging students to bring a level of professionalism and intentionality to the entire process.
