Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are creative and deserve access to all the materials they need to develop their understanding of geometry and early engineering concepts.

Flexible seating continues to be the gold standards for classrooms.

The materials provided in this project will allow my students to develop mastery of geometry standards in an engaging way that allows for independent cleanup and smooth transitions.

We will use the geometric solids included in this project to support students' understanding of flat and solid shapes. They will develop their understanding of how these solid shapes form the foundations of all structures as they engage with building structures using the shapes at a small group table.

The cushions included in this project will be used as students sit around a lowered table to build their structures, using materials that are much easier to store than four large chairs. Students will be able to use the handles on the cushions to put them away quickly as they gain independence and agency throughout the year and help with maintaining our learning environment.

I look forward to being able to make geometry lessons more engaging and dynamic with the materials included in this project.
