My students are inquiring and energetic young women and men. They are reflective thinkers who enjoy working together on group projects. They come to class with lots of prior knowledge and experience with the world and on many of the topics we learn about in Geography.
My students also like working with a lot of engaging, hands-on materials, watching videos, and having discussions.
My 9th graders are very caring individuals and they have enjoyed doing community service style projects in our class. They are also very adept at using technology, like our classroom set of iPads, and they like to work on projects using websites and apps.
My Project
My students learn best with lots of hands-on activities and projects. These maps and globes will help my students better understand the world they live in, and they will also be better able to practice their map skills. Because my students are so technology-focused, they struggle with using real, physical maps.
My students are global learners, and so it is important for them to have the materials to practice their global mind-set.
They are inquirers and they want to know about the world. The requested maps and globes will help them connect the topics we learn about to the actual places on earth.
