Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Everyday, my students ask to turn the big lights off in the classroom. Unfortunately, with large classes, this can cause a lot of problems between students. Students who do not have great vision typically want the lights on, while others want them off.

These lamps would allow me to put one at each of my table groups so the classroom lighting can be inclusive to all students.

Students perform better on assignments when they are in a calm environment. These lamps will make creating this environment possible for all of my students, instead of some or most students. My goal as a teacher is for each one of my students to feel seen and heard. Giving them accommodations to make their day a little better and more enjoyable will help me accomplish that.

The school I work in is a Title I district. Many of my students have told me how they share bedrooms with siblings and they just wish they could have more control over their lives. I want to empower my students to be successful and give them chances to be in control, so their needs are met.
