Some say teaching is difficult, but I am blessed to have a group of hard-working, enthusiastic students that brighten my everyday and make teaching so much easier.
They lead, inspire and motivate each other to learn and do more, not only for themselves but also for those around them.
They are the reason I go to work every day with a smile on my face ready to feed their active imaginations and give them all the tools for success.
My students are economically and culturally diverse coming from many backgrounds. They are completely virtual so they are coming from across the DFW metroplex.
My Project
Generation Genius is a great program with videos geared towards Math and Science. In the past, my students have always looked forward to these 10-15 minute videos! They include songs, examples and even vocabulary.
The Science videos demonstrate multiple experiments; something my virtual students won't be able to do hands-on.
Some of these experiments are set up to try at home while others are "Don't Try This At Home." This will help get the students amped for Science at home and create future Scientists.
The Math videos include multiple real life examples and how to use the tools for that Math concept. For example, the multiplication video shows the multiplication chart, how skip counting and repeated addition work plus multiple real life word problems to help the kids see WHY we multiply.
Generation Genius will help my virtual kiddos see Math and Science concepts from another point of view in a fun way!
