Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am currently teaching at a small elementary school. In addition to teaching Spanish (DLI), we also teach gifted and talented students. As a professional educator teaching in another language, it is challenging to find resources in Spanish that support the learning of our students. Generation Genius provides these resources in English and Spanish. Although we are a technology school our funding is limited in the present school year. The main focus of our school is on math, technology, engineering, and science. If the donors decide to support this special project it would benefit a great number of students both in English and Spanish. All of these technology software educational program requests have been chosen thinking about the needs of my students. I have noticed that my students are engaged when they use learning tasks developed by this company. I asked them what type of software they would enjoy using in class. The majority of my students mentioned Generation Genius. My students said, “We like it because it is fun and it helps us learn science and math in Spanish!”
