My Project
My students are curious, creative, and eager to explore the world through art. As Access students, they face a variety of learning and physical challenges, but they show up every day with resilience and a desire to express themselves in meaningful ways. What they often lack is access to high-quality materials that allow for that expression to flourish.
That’s why I’m requesting a class pack of gelli plates and printing materials—so that every student can experience the magic of printmaking.
Printmaking is incredibly tactile, engaging, and accessible. It allows students to experiment with color, texture, and layering—without the intimidation of needing to “draw perfectly.” Gelli plates are ideal for students of all abilities because they’re easy to use, require no pressure, and produce beautiful results instantly. These materials will help my students build confidence, develop fine motor skills, and experience success in art.
This project will open up a new world of creative possibilities. My students deserve the opportunity to create with professional tools that honor their ideas and efforts. With your support, we can bring vibrant, hands-on printmaking into our classroom—and give every student the chance to see themselves as an artist.
