My Project
Most printmaking techniques require carving with sharp bladed instruments. I howevr, teach elementary students. Gelli Plates provide the fun of printmaking without the danger of being cut by accident.
With the Gelli Plates, students can also add multiple layers of color and texture.
This method of printmaking helps students explore printmaking in a totally different way from the use of plain styrofoam plates. There is no carving involved. Without the planning and carving required for styrofoam plates, students are able to have a more immediate and far superior experience with printmaking.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
