Gearing up for a Great Beginning!

My Students

I teach in a low income/high poverty school district. I teach children that have gone through many obstacles in and out of the classroom. Recently we have been impacted by our second hurricane in two years. Most of my students' families live paycheck to paycheck, and cannot buy the extras that are needed to help benefit their education. I feel it is my job to give them every opportunity that is afforded to them to enable them to reach their educational goals.

My students inspire me everyday.

No matter what life has thrown at them, they still manage to wake themselves up in the morning and come to school ready to learn.

My Project

These materials will provide my students with some everyday learning materials to help them succeed on a daily basis this year. Students will be inspired through the posters that will hang on the walls. The pencil sharpener will be used throughout the year to help make the morning routine less stressful. The workbooks will increase the students vocabulary and math skills which will increase their overall learning performance. These supplies will help our classroom start off on the right foot and enhance the students willingness to make the big steps to becoming independent learners in the third grade this school year.
