Gardening Without Soil

Help me give my students their own hydroponic garden system, to grow their own healthy foods.

My Project

Now that we have a garden in the works at our school, I wanted to talk to my students about food deserts and ways we can help the community. By using our recycling bins and composting bins, we can provide rich soil for our outside garden. However, did you know you can grow a healthy garden without using soil at all? Using a Hydroponic kit or building one can help increase how much veggies and fruits we can provide to our community. Hydroponic plants produce a greater yield of fruits and vegetables because in a hydroponic system plants are more densely spaced together compared to the size of land that would be needed to grow the same number of plants. Help us start our hydroponic system at our school please.
