Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We want to help teach our kinders how to take pride in their school by helping to clean up their playground while learning to garden. Our school is title one and a lot of students have never taken care of a yard. We want to instill pride in their school as well as helping them get outside. We have a large population of extreme behaviors and we think that having the students work on their school will give the students the opportunity to take ownership in their environment.
We plan for the students to plant and maintain flower and vegetable gardens for the spring and fall.
Students will be able to pick out what types of gardens they will planting and monitor their growth over next few weeks.
