My Students

My students are in a small rural-located public school. They are 7th and 8th grade middle school students. They have been trough the devastating floods recently and many friends and families have been displaced even to other states.

Our classroom has no dissection animals or kits, and many desired supplies are not available.

Budgets for supplies are done as departments and we have no funds offered individually for teachers.

Our school is mostly reduced/free lunch students (at-risk, Title I) and the students are mostly minority and have many life challenges.

As we embark on touching the lives of these children with many needs, your donations become a part of something that should be considered priceless... touching the lives of children.

My students are excited about potential field trips and are excited about "doing things" (experiments, activities, etc.). We need help to make this a reality!

My Project

This project will allow our students to actually create their own gardens for each of my three life science classes! Their backpacks are usually full of Hot Fries and other junk and many probably have no idea that food comes from out of the ground.

By being able to have our own gardens, we can organically allow the students to grow and eat their own food and learn where food really comes from, while having the perfect outdoor classroom to learn photosynthesis, reproduction, and the rest of the curriculum!

We can walk right from our classroom to a garden area and use the garden throughout the school year to learn from actual nature instead of power points, books, and other traditional resources.
