Gardening in NYC

Help me give my students a vegetable garden in NYC. Many students do not have the opportunity to learn about gardening and pollinators in urban communities! We will be hand out to food to those in the community!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

So many students do not get the opportunity to learn about gardening and pollinators in urban communities. Our school has an unused terrace in which we would like to teach students about hot to grow their own food while using limited space! Help contribute to students learning about plants, the water cycle, seasons and pollination!

We would like to use the bed to create garden beds so children can physically move dirt into them, while using the gloves and watering cans to grow and harvest their vegetables.

The students will not only learn about vegetables but also about flowers and how pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, contribute to our food growth!
