In case you didn't know kids these days are obsessed with interactive games like Roblox and Minecraft.

Gaming is something that both the boys and the girls enjoy.

With this project I am looking to use this gaming interest into reading interest and cash in on it, so to speak. We already have a few books related to gaming that the students argue over who is going to get to read them that day. They love the few Minecraft, Roblox, Sonic and Mario Bros books that are currently in the class library. I would like my classroom library to change with the times and keep up with the current interests of my classes, and this is a very current interest.

The books I am requesting are a mix of how to as well as fiction based on the aforementioned games. I just KNOW the variety of books will help my students with reading skills. Anytime kids read for 20 minutes at a time they build their stamina, vocabulary, comprehension and it literally makes their brains stronger! And the more interested they are on a topic the more likely they'll read about it (just like us adults). These books will all be placed in the same bin and labeled "Gaming Inspired Books."
