Gamifying Grammar

My Project

I teach 8th grade English with a large portion of my students served being English language learners and students who receive special education services. Grammar and conventions are important for students to master but often times grammar curriculum can come across as boring and dry (WAY TOO MANY WORKSHEETS!)

Help me gamify our grammar curriculum by providing materials like game pawns, bingo chips, card stock, dice, and legos; my students always do better when there is fun and a healthy dose of competition involved!

My goal for this project is to add an engaging game to play and review each of our grammar standards. In 8th grade, we cover a wide range of grammar topics, from prepositional phrases, to gerunds and infinitives. Giving my students other ways to access and practice the information will be a game changer in their ability to retain and implement the information they are learning- which will make them better readers and writers overall.
