Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Another worksheet? More whole class activities? NO! This grant brings individualized educational and fun materials into the classroom that allows the teacher to work with focused small groups.

My 3rd grade students span the grade levels in reading and math levels.

Over half receive free/reduced lunch and almost one third are second language learners. These students love learning and they want to do well but many of our instructional materials are "one size fits all" and are designed to be used with the whole class. These materials do not allow for the many differences these students possess in learning styles, background knowledge, and ability. This grant aims to bring learning centers into the classroom that give every student the opportunity to be successful.

My Project

These "frog games" are ready to use learning centers that are organized into game sets. Each set contains 25 different games that provide different levels of practice on grade level content in an engaging way. The games all have the same rules, they are easy to follow, and they are self checking. This structure allows the teacher to work with students individually or in small groups. The frog games support the curriculum and provide excellent reinforcement of skills. To top it all off, the students love playing them!

These frog games would be an amazing addition to my classroom.

Rather than another worksheet or workbook page, the activities target specific skills and are motivating for students of all levels. These students need support like this to meet the challenges of education today.
