My Students

Hello Generous Donors,

I teach Kindergarten in a low-income neighborhood in the heart of Philadelphia.

My classroom this year will have 28 enthusiastic learners, each will be on a different learning level some who have no school experience. I will need to think of creative ways to engage them, keep them focused, and build the foundation to make them life long learners.

Despite the adversity of the harsh area that surrounds our school and many of their homes, I am in constant awe of the resilience that they show. They come to school wanting to learn and shouldn't let something small like not having a pencil keep them from having their best day.

Our classroom is a safe place where all of my students are encouraged to be themselves and have fun while learning. Because of this, they look forward to coming to school every day.

My Project

All of the games requested will help all of my students gain all of the skills they will need to not only thrive in our class but it will help put them on the path to become life long learners!

We will not only be able to use our Smartboard as a Literacy and Math Center but we will also be able to play board games that will teach the children both educational skills and how to interact with their peers and good sportsmanship.

These supplies will be used throughout the year and for many years to come in our classroom.
