This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is full of thirty, energetic, Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten students in a charter school setting. Our school includes grades from TK to sixth grade. We meet together five days a week. All students are encouraged to make personal goals that they work on at school and at home with parents. They love working with technology in our classroom. We celebrate each student as they achieve their personal goals at their own individual pace. My students feel encouraged and supported in our community while contributing to their own learning pathway.
My Project
I will use these products to teach math skills to my Transitional kindergaten and kindergarten students. I have 33 students this year. I am concerned that many of my students have had very little social interaction with other children over the last year.
Math Games are a great way to teach math, but also social skills like - taking turns, being a gracious winner, and how to lose without getting upset.
I like the idea of practicing math skills by playing board games with my kindergarten students. I know they are going to just love these fun games.
