My students need games such as Froggy Phonics, Ants in the Pants and Mouse Trap, to reinforce concepts taught in the classroom and teach social interaction skills.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Isn't it more fun to learn through games? My First Graders definitely agree!
I teach First Grade at a Title I school.
The majority of my students are English Language Learners and receive either free or reduced lunch. With a majority of my students' parents working, my students often go to a home where their only social interaction is with the TV or a video game. My students have limited access to playing board games and having fun with their peers.
My Project
My students need games such as Froggy Phonics, Ants in the Pants and Mouse Trap, to reinforce concepts taught in the classroom and teach social interaction skills. First Graders are in the beginning stages of developing their social skills. Playing games and taking turns is a great way for them to learn communication and problem solving skills. I am requesting games that review phonics skills (beginning sounds, blends, and digraphs)and social games (Chutes and Ladders, Don't Spill the Beans, Ants in The Pants, and Mouse Trap) that allow my students the opportunity to play with their peers. These games not only teach my students social skills, such as taking turns and following rules, but will reinforce concepts learned in the classroom, while having fun!
Your donation will give my students the opportunity to build social skills, learn how to follow directions, and practice academics, while having fun interacting and communicating with each other.
