Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 4th grade in a high poverty area. This is only my second year of teaching, and it's my first year to teach 4th grade. Right now I have 21 students, but the mobility rate of my school is very high, so I could end up with closer to 30 students later in the year.
Most of my students are reading way below their grade level. Many of them are not motivated to read because they haven't had much success with reading. Many of them struggle because English was not their first language, and it isn't the language spoken at home.
The reading games I have selected would be highly motivating for my students. It would also give them the skills they need to bring their reading up to grade level.
Your donation would help me meet the needs of the struggling readers in my classroom in a fun and exciting way.
