Games Make Math Fun! Leveled Books Make Reading Easy!
Help me give my students a strong foundation in Math and Reading. Games build strong math skills, teach fair play, taking turns and teamwork. Reading is made easy with books at our level.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I just started my new job teaching kindergarten and our district is a low socio-economic district. Almost all students are on the free breakfast/free lunch program. My students are sweet kids, ages 5-6 years old.
My kindergartners are excited to come to school each day to see what new adventures await them.
They are eager to learn and gain experiences. They love to read and write. Making lessons colorful and full of language helps my kindergartners learn.
Like most children, my students love to sing and move and play. But, they don't have many of the things that other children have. There is no computer lab, no PTA, no teacher aides. Basic school supplies are purchased by teachers. I hope to provide my students with all the advantages of a quality education with your help. Every child deserves a chance to learn with books, reading materials, computers, games, math manipulatives and writing materials. Please help me provide these things for my students.
My Project
Games make learning fun! With games like Candy Land and Trouble, we can count and add and use one-to-one correspondence. We learn rules and take turns. Students will work individually and in teams to learn to share in each others' successes and learn to strategize. Connect Four will teach a twist to the Tic-Tac-Toe game. Students learn to plan ahead and see outside the box.
With leveled books, students will be more successful and that success creates a desire to learn more and read more.
The more they read, the more they will know and the farther they will go with their learning and education. Students will build on their reading skills and move up levels as they learn more of the high frequency words that appear in these books.
This is my first year in this school district. I have a new classroom with minimal materials. My students will truly benefit from these games and books. Please help provide me with these books and games so that I may help my students learn in fun ways. Thank you!
