Help me give my students hands-on games (Jenga, Connect 4, Checkers) that will help build community by having fun together without technology.

My Students

My students come into the classroom each day eager and ready to learn! My classroom is full of diverse students that are innovative and curious. They like to move and be hands-on learners. That is why I am always looking for fresh and innovative ways to increase excitement and engagement in learning tasks.

When students are excited about their learning, they tend to dig deeper with the content and remain focused for longer periods of time.

Funding this project will allow me to provide another tool to advance my students' learning and build community.

My Project

Students will use these games during Advisory to build community and have some fun. The games will be utilized by all 6th-grade Advisory teachers in my school. We will rotate the games to ensure that each Advisory has an opportunity to enjoy and benefit.

The games will create an environment where students are using teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills!

It is important that students have time to converse with each other and collaborate without the assistance of technology.

I believe these games will make a difference in our 6th-grade​ classroom communities! We want to give all students time to play and have fun while learning personal skills.
