Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students represent the School District of Philadelphia in a most wonderful way. These students are caring children. Our students are inclusive and invite students to play and sit with them at lunch. SC students focus on making certain that everyone has a friend to hang out with. Our students demonstrate this caring each day by helping one another even in the classroom by reexplaining the concept or task to fellow students who struggle using their kid language.

Multiculturalism is our pride at SC, with students flocking to us from Central America, South America, Asia, Africa, and of course North America.

We are such a rich school with the children's customs, holidays, and languages. We find commonality and we embrace the differences. We are truly blessed!

My Project

My project is games for our after school club. Many of my students have no-one at home after school. Most of my students spend their evenings playing video games with little human conversation. This club provides a safe opportunity for kids to be engaged, happily communicating with their friends, and playing strategy, and other educational games.

It's advantageous for kids to know maps, to spell complex words, and to sharpen their thinking skills through strategy games.

Online games still lack the human element of conversation and engagement. With your help, I can expand this club and keep it interesting with these additional games.
