This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A little bit goes a long way, especially for those of us in a financially unstable, Title I school district. Unfortunately we do not have the same resources that more prominent districts do, so as educators, we often find ourselves supplying our students and our classrooms with the materials needed with our own money.
I am always willing to put my hand in my own pocket if it means that I can support the different needs of my students, but at one point or another, what I can provide them with by myself will no longer be enough.
I am looking for various games that can be easily sanitized in between sessions that will allow my students to learn and target their specific goals during speech in a more fun and engaging way.
My Project
In my speech room, I am all about hands-on games and materials that can be used for fun and engaging lessons. These things keep my students focused and participating with ease, all while learning. With these uncertain times, it has been very difficult to use any kind of game or tactile material because what I have on-hand is not easily sanitized between sessions. Various board games will allow for hours and hours of teaching and learning, while still having fun!
I am hoping to get this project funded so that I can bring back the one thing all my students keep asking for - games!
