Games for Montessori Math

My Students

My district is offering an innovative public-school Montessori program for students and parents in Detroit. We are presenting our students with individualized learning programs as well as high-quality curricular materials!

I have the privilege of teaching 25 bright 1st to 3rd-grade students this year in a Montessori, mixed-age environment.

My students will learn English Language Arts, Mathematics, Botany, Geography, History and more. We will also strive to have a peaceful community and learn the social skills needed to thrive in our classroom and world.

My Project

My lower elementary Montessori students are working to learn their math facts and master "small operations." While we have a number of Montessori materials that have introduced students to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, we could use some more materials to make math fun! These math games and materials will help my students get excited to learn their numbers and facts. If they can work and play cooperatively with math games, they will be motivated to master math. Additionally, these math games and activities will help my students develop cooperative social skills.
