it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember the excitement of going to kindergarten, all the books, letters and numbers all over the classroom? Well, imagine my students with this excitement and readiness, but still learning English! They are ready to learn and read, but they need the tools to build their alphabet skills!
I have a beautiful class of 25 English language learners in a public school.
The children are primed and ready to learn to read and write, but first we need to build their phonemic awareness with alphabet games! Children love games, and what better way to learn the ABCs than through games and art activities!
My Project
English language learners need as much exposure to the language as possible. These alphabet games and activities not only provide concrete practice, but they also open the door for conversations with children and teachers as they work in a small group setting. These tools are invaluable for my students as they gain control over the language.
These materials would provide a classroom of fun and generate excitement and motivation to give the children confidence as they learn their ABCs.
Each day the children can use these materials in small group settings to build literacy and language skills.
