Finally back in school after we've been shut down since March! My 29 6th grade students are so willing to learn anything and everything. They all come from such diverse backgrounds, and they all learn so differently. They always aim to please, and I am so blessed I have them in my class.

We are a Community Eligible Provision School where ALL students are eligible to eat free breakfast and lunches because most of our students are from low-income households. Many of our students' only access to quality reading materials is through their school library.
My Project
I have chosen some STEM items and games for my students to play during indoor recess. It snows a lot in Montana, and it gets too cold for the students to go outside.
Instead of having students on their Chromebooks, I think these educational games like tangrams, blocks, and "hot potato" will spark their imaginations with building, problem-solving, deeper thinking, and just plain human interaction.
I also chose a magnetic spinner to place rewards and tasks to choose from for positive motivation and reinforcement. These games are easily sanitized and can be wiped down due to COVID restrictions.
