This semester we are working on learning about probability using a Game simulation. The students have been very excited and are happy to try new games.
Mancala and Shut the Box are classic games that my students really enjoy playing but I need more of them.
Mancala only can play 2 people at a time and Shut the Box only can have 4 people play. My largest group of students is 19 children. So I need more games for the students to play.
Games such as these encourage many different aspects. They encourage turn-taking, good sportsmanship, and other social skills. Another aspect they encourage is strategies and number sense depending on which game they play.
